Victoria Day Fireworks at Woodbine Beach 2012

The Royals came to visit and observe the annual fireworks display commemorating the current Queen’s Great-Grandmother Victoria, which added to the usual crowds. It is also likely why things started 15 minutes earlier than usual, which meant I wasn’t fully set up when things started. Still, I managed to get a few decent shots in before it ended.

Canada Day Fireworks @ Woodbine Beach 2011

As usual, I headed down to the bottom of Woodbine Beach to see and photograph the Canada Day fireworks.

Had my trusty Olympus E-510 set up on a tripod and took these pics. Some are shot using the built-in “Fireworks” mode (which opens the shuttle for several seconds) and others were shot in “normal” mode, just to see what would happen. They seemed to have worked out pretty well actually, appearing less “streaky” than the ones with long exposures. See for yourself.

Victoria Day Fireworks by Woodbine Beach 2010

Took my trusty Olympus E-510 along with a tripod down to the foot of Woodbine Beach, basically straight down from where I live, to shot this year’s Victoria Day fireworks display. The one that follows is my favourite, which shows the fireworks as well as their reflection in the waters of the lake:

Victoria Day at Ashbridges Bay, 2009

Good show this year.

I took the girls down to the beach, walking straight down from our house. (Unfortunately Erika had an important practice to go to, so wasn’t there for it. This time last year, I was away in China, so I missed out on last year’s show).

Everything started at about 9:45pm and lasted for maybe 15-20 minutes. Lots of very noisy fun!

The following pics are a small selection of favorites I took during the show.
